Connector Installation
Typical Procedure
- Review the data sheet for your connectors to ensure you are using the correct interlocking setup.
- Lie the sheet pile on the ground and thread the connector into the interlock (connectors are installed before driving).
- Adjust the connector(s) to the desired position and tack or spot weld the connector in place. Typically a 10" weld attaching the connector to the sheet pile at the top of the pile is sufficient.
- Drive, set, and extract the sheet pile (with the connector(s) attached) as you would with a normal sheet pile.
Splicing
In some cases it may be necessary to splice two connectors. Splicing is extremely easy to do with our connectors as they are produced within very exact tolerances. Splices can be carried out prior to threading or you can splice the connectors as you thread them.
Driving Only the Connector
In some cases it may be necessary to drive the connector on it's own. This is possible in most cases, however it is recommended that the upper 12" of the connector be cut to a flat shape so that it can be easily and firmly grasped. Here is a three-part video demonstrating this technique:
